And in the evenings a table for two watching the sun melt away..
Camogli is the most romantic town in Italy that I have visited, I love every little town in Italy yet there is a calmness about this quaint and pint sized fishing village that eludes to a sense of enchantment!
The people that live here must constantly feel relaxed, even in peak season when the village is full of local and international tourists holidaying there is a slow pace that you can’t help but fall into.
The village is surrounded by colourful houses and in the summer the sunlight reflects off the houses and radiates the air with warmth. Camogli is so easy to get to and sits at the base of the Portofino mountains. The perfect two day romantic getaway or a lovely spot to stop off for a night or day trip if you are driving or catching the train along the picturesque Italian Riviera.
Seafood here is as fresh as it can get, and the local Northern Italian wines are delicious. If you can’t make it to Camogli on this expensive part of the Ligurian coastline this year it doesn’t mean that you have to miss out on a taste of Liguria, you can always decorate your outdoor table alfresco style with lots of romantic lighting in luxurious Diptyque candles smelling of Gardenia and Jasmin that you can find here and here …
And then cook up a storm for friends and family just as the locals do with delicious Ligurian style recipes from A Ligurian Kitchen by Laura Giannatempo, you can find it here …
