Saint Vincent is a town and commune in the Aosta Valley region of north-western Italy.
Saint Vincent in Valle d’Aosta is a beautiful place to visit especially if you like to take walks in the mountains in north-west Italy. The Aosta Valley is mountainous and boarders the Rhone Alpes in France to the west, Switzerland to the north and the region of piedmont to the south and east.
The region tends to get fairly cold during the winter months especially when it snows, and during the summer the air can still be cool yet with sunshine glistening down on the mountains it is a very pretty region to enjoy trekking.
The cuisine in the area tends to be simple and clean yet robust with some delicious cheeses originating from the area such as Fontina which is made from cows milk, Toma and Valle d’Aosta Fromadzo which is an Italian cows milk cheese that is a specialty of the region and has been produced in the valley since the 15th Century.
Valle d’Aosta also produces some nice local white and red wines that are served in local trattorias.
Due to the close proximity to the French boarder, both Italian and French are the official languages of the region yet Italian is the language that is mostly spoken.
